all growns up

Mags has been growing up so quickly lately. She has learned to wave hello and goodbye. We were a little surprised to see her catching on so quickly. But, we were absolutely shocked when we realized she disappeared into her room - only to find her rocking herself to sleep....

Or, maybe Mom likes to pretend she is a doll and "help" her with her poses...

Anyway, there are some more pics of Mags in picasa. Some that are like these - and a bunch from our wonderful weekend near Danbury, WI. We were able to stay at great grandma and grandpa's cabin in the woods and visit grampa mike and gramma alice camping each day down by the st. croix river.

dylan and maggie sittin' in a tree...

Mags recently went on her second date with Ryan (Soup) and Kate's son Dylan. He is about 6 weeks older than Mags. They are still "just friends" right now. But, I think he is starting now to work up the courage to ask her to the 2026 prom...

chuck bee bloggin'

So, by now you have probably figured out that the author of this blog is me....Chuck. I know that even though you have found yourself reading this blog thinking - "Wow. This writing is excellent. I am both completely entertained and find myself well informed on the day-to-day activities of both Tracey and Mags. But, it does lack something....It needs more. While the author is both witty and charming - He doesn't seem to give me enough. This blog needs more "Chuck" in it..." Something a lot like that anyway...

Well, here is the blog entry you have been waiting for. I wri
te to both entertain and teach. I think this should do both.

I do not always make the best medical choices. It's been going on my whole life. As I get older I seem to be getting better at it - that is - better at making poor medical choices. I know you are thinking - what do you mean?!? OK. Here you go.... When I was a kid I continued to play soccer for a couple weeks
after I had a back injury. It hurt pretty bad - but, the doc didn't see anything right away so we figured it was fine and I could tough it out. Turns out it was a fractured vertebrae pinching a nerve - I ended up in a body cast the rest of the summer. Or - fast forward to a couple years ago - after my knee surgery I had to have a screw taken out. By this time I was tired of being drugged up on painkillers. So, I chose to have the screw taken out without any pain medication. More recently - just this spring I decided that I must have some bad allergies - but, I couldn't get over them. Since Trace was 8 and 3/4 months pregnant she told me to go to the doctor (hint: never argue with a 8 and 3/4 month pregnant woman). I did - and the 'allergies' I had been fighting turned out to be full blown (and contagious) pneumonia. So, a couple weeks ago when I was stung by a bee (that's right - a stinkin' bee) I didn't do anything about it. A couple days later it started to swell - I didn't do anything about it. Finally, after 5 days - I didn't have a choice - my vision was being affected - I went in and the doc told me it was infected and gave me antibiotics. Here are a couple pics of the day-to-day progress....

So, did you learn something? Yes - don't ever take medical advice from me. Are you entertained? I should hope so. Those pictures are sweet!

Oh yeah, I suppose you might want an update on Mags. Well, if you check the new pics in picasa you can see what she has been up to. A little swimming at the cabin. A couple trips to the Park Tavern - Tracey's birthday - and maybe a breakfast or two. Hangin' out with Lou. Hangin' out with Ellie on her changing table (yeah. I know it's only a stuffed animal - but, Trace named it.) Baptized at St. John's (today). Hangin' out with her cousins...

What else? Mags is smiling nonstop. Almost to the point that I think she might be up to something. Starting to "coo" or "goo" or maybe even "ooo" - not sure which one. Starting to find her thumb to suck. Likes to scream like mad from about 7-8:30 (she's probably getting ready to get started right now). This is solved by me strapping her in her Baby Bjourn and walking around the block about 4 times. I think the neighbors think this is cute - until the notice that I am drinking a beer while doing it.... She is down to about 1 maybe 2 'wake ups' per night. Oh, and she made a very important decision - she has chosen Good over Evil - she made up her mind to become a Viking fan and MADE me pick up a Viking cheerleader outfit - Believe me - pics will be posted as soon as we take them.

That's it for now - Mags is starting to get fussy. Must be time for me to have a beer....er, take her for her walk.
