Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas!  The girls were at a fun age this Christmas season!  We had lots of fun with our Elf on the Shelf named G.  Maggie sat on Santa's lap, but once again Ruby wanted nothing to do with him (see the picture above....no Ruby).  I had two great helpers when it came to baking Christmas cookies (they lasted for about the first 5 minute), we took lots of walks through Oak Knoll Park to see all of the lights, and we loved getting the mail each day to see all of the great Christmas cards!
Christmas Eve was busy this year.  We started the day out at Grandma and Grandpa Demulling's house and then headed out to Grandma and Grandpa Souvignier's.  The girls had so much fun playing with their cousins and were extremely spoiled with lots of gifts from the Grandmas and Grandpas.
I added some more pictures into picasa.  Happy New Year!

Live for each day

I came home from school yesterday and gave each of the girls an extra long hug.  It felt so good to hold them close and kiss their heads after hearing the horrific news of the mass shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.   It scares me to think what this world is coming to and what it will be like for my girls in their lifetime.  I never thought there would be a day when innocent little first graders would be the victims of such a heinous crime- at school of all places where they are supposed to be safe and protected.  As a mother and a teacher, this story breaks my heart.  My prayers go out to all of the parents who will never get to see their son/ daughter again, all of the family members of the staff that were killed, and all of the students and staff of Sand Hook Elementary.  God Bless them.
