Winter is Here!

Sometimes Maggie decides to come and lie down in the middle of the kitchen floor while I make dinner. It's tough being a 1 year old!!

Now that it's winter, Maggie got to break out her snow boots, she went through a little phase of wearing them ALL the time! More pics to view in the blog!

Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween! We went over to Toni & D's for a little while this Halloween to see Sid and Cully in their costumes and Grandma and Grandpa were going to be there too! After spending a little time there, we headed back to our neighborhood to pop into a few houses- Maggie didn't trick-or-treat for candy this year, just went visiting! Above are a few pictures of our little mouse- Chuck liked to call her a rat just to get me going!!

San Diego!

We just got back from the Souvignier family trip to sunny San Diego. We stayed in a house on Mission Beach with Chuck's parents and two brothers and their families. It was a perfect house with lots of space, great patios, and it walked right out to the sand. Here's a quick summary of our trip:
Saturday- We arrived at S.D. around 2:00 pm, settled into the house and celebrated Max & Claire's 4th birthdays that evening with a pizza party, cake and presents!
Sunday- We played on the beach, went grocery shopping, and had a nice steak dinner to celebrate Bill & Bernie's 40th Wedding Anniversary.
Monday- This was the hottest day of the trip. It was perfect beach weather. We walked about a mile down the boardwalk to the other side of the bay where the ocean was. Maggie got to see the big waves- I think she liked them!
Tuesday- Maggie didn't feel the best and took two naps. In between naps, we went to the ocean side by the pier and had a nice lunch at a cute restaurant on the beach called Green Flash. Then we walked around the area and had fun people watching and checking out the little shops.
Wednesday- We got up and started packing and headed to the airport only to find out our flight was delayed.....and then eventually canceled. Yup, canceled! It was crazy at the airport with everyone trying to get on the next flight or piece meal flights together to get to their destination. The best we could do was get on the same flight the next day, so off we went back to the beach house. Luckily, the rest of Chuck's family had planned on staying there for the entire week.
Thursday- Ditto from yesterday, except we did make it home this time!!
Some highlights of the trip:
* I was able to get in a few beautiful runs while we were there. It was amazing running on the bay side and then on the ocean side. Between watching the water sparkle and watching the many different kinds of people go by, I felt like I could run forever!
* We had some great dinners together at the beach house- it was the one time of the day we knew we would all be together! Great food and great times!!!
* Watching Maggie's surprised and happy expression each morning when she woke up and saw Grandma and Grandpa. She didn't expect to see them so many days in a row!
* Maggie getting a chance to play with her cousins!

Train Rides, Hay Rides, and Fall Fun!

Fall is here and we've added more pictures to the picasa web album! Last Saturday morning we headed out to Osceola for a pumpkin train ride. Grandma, Toni, Sid, Maggie and Cullen and I rode the old fashion train up to Dresser where we got off and picked out a pumpkin, went through a hay maze and the kids got their faces painted. It was one more chance to get a wear out of Maggie's Halloween costume too! After the train ride, we headed back to Grandma and Grandpas. The kids got in a quick nap just in time for a hay ride through the wooded trails behind the farm. It was a lot of fun and something we're hoping might be the start of a new tradition!

Summer ends at the cabin and Fall begins with Football!

We were lucky enough to end our summer with some great cabin weekends! The pictures above are of the Bossen's home, the Souvignier cabin, and the Schiller cabin. Also, Fall has arrived and football season has begun in the new Gopher stadium! More pics have been added to the web album.
Maggie update: Maggie is now 15 months! It's crazy how much she is learning every week! She loves to mimic everything and everyone- even Lou! Her transition back to day care went pretty well. There were tears the first three days, but after that she was tear free! The first few days when I picked her up she took my hand and walked me around to each of the kids as she waved goodbye! She handled the transition even better than mom!

Camping, Friends, Fish Fry

Well, it's the end of August, and summer is coming to a close. It's been a go, go, go summer, but lots of fun!! We are so lucky to have such great family and friends!! We've added to the August album in picasa as well as the few pictures from this post. The first few pictures are of us camping with Grandma and Grandpa Demulling up north on the St. Croix River near Great Grandma and Grandpa's cabin. The Schiller and Sargent kids are also in one of the pictures, now there's one more little Sargent- Congrats Jeff and Kristie!! The last picture is of Maggie with her Great Aunt Marlene in Sioux Falls for the annual Souvignier Family Fish Fry.

Time to wake up!
